A House vacancy in Grand Bassa County
Grand Bassa County Electoral District 3 held a representative by-election after the death of Liberty Party Representative Edward Bueh Sundaygar. The first round took place on 10 July 2007, followed by a runoff on 24 July.
First-round result
Abel Moses Nyounbol of the Unity Party led with 1,189 votes (26.4%), followed by Jeh Byron Browne of the Liberty Party with 1,033 (22.9%). Both advanced to the runoff.
Augustus Bob Zangar, independent, received 838 votes (18.6%); John Kimber Mannie, independent, 312 (6.9%); Fred Dahndyn Tukue, independent, 302 (6.7%); Orishall L. Gould of the Congress for Democratic Change, 259 (5.7%); Robert Tuesday Vonyeegar, independent, 215 (4.8%); Eric B. Jackson of the Free Democratic Party, 169 (3.7%); T. Nathan G. Horace, independent, 157 (3.5%); and Roland Oldman Wee, independent, 36 (0.8%).
All 60 polling places reported. The NEC recorded 4,510 valid votes and 196 invalid ballots, for 4,706 ballots cast.
Runoff — 24 July
Jeh Byron Browne of the Liberty Party defeated Abel Moses Nyounbol and was elected representative for Grand Bassa County District 3.
