Liberia held a general election in 1893 during Joseph James Cheeseman’s first presidential term.
Presidential result
Incumbent President Joseph James Cheeseman of the True Whig Party was re-elected, defeating Anthony D. Williams Jr. of the New Republican Party. Williams had also challenged Cheeseman in the 1891 election.
Political context
The result extended Cheeseman’s presidency and maintained True Whig control of the national government. William David Coleman continued as vice president during Cheeseman’s administration, although a complete vice-presidential return for this election has not yet been located.
