Margibi County Electoral District 4 held a representative by-election in mid-February 2008 after the death of Representative Flasher Garjuan Chideryou, an independent. Thirteen candidates contested the first round.
First-round result
Ballah G. Zayzay of the Unity Party led with 3,528 votes (47.9%) but fell short of the majority threshold. Opeer Roland Cooper of the Congress for Democratic Change placed second with 1,348 votes (18.3%) and advanced to the runoff.
Other totals were Joe Sundaygar Mason Jr. (Liberty Party), 732; Joshua Velleh Robinson Sr. (independent), 700; Arthomilts Sieh Thomas, 177; Macdonald Sammy, 177; Abraham B. Y. Jusu Garneoeh (Alliance for Peace and Democracy), 169; George Gahway McGee Jr. (Liberia Action Party), 153; Winston P. Gaye, 134; David Borbor Farkollie, 127; Bestus Peter Davise, 111; Yvonne Noring Ojeaga, 52; and Lazarus L. D. McIntosh, 51.
All 58 polling places reported. The NEC recorded 7,358 valid votes and 312 invalid ballots, for 7,670 ballots cast.
Runoff — 26 February
Ballah G. Zayzay defeated Opeer Roland Cooper in the runoff and was elected to the House of Representatives for Margibi County District 4.
