Inclusive Education and Student Rights in Liberia

Inclusive education means learners can enter, participate, learn, and progress without discrimination. Schools must identify and remove barriers rather than expect every student to fit one rigid system.
Learners with disabilities
Access includes safe routes, usable facilities and sanitation, appropriate communication, accessible materials, trained teachers, reasonable accommodation, and protection from stigma.
Girls and rural learners
Fees, distance, household work, safety, harassment, menstrual-health needs, pregnancy, early marriage, language, and limited school choice can interrupt education. Policies should protect dignity, privacy, and continued learning.
Safety and due process
Students should be protected from exploitation, bullying, humiliation, discriminatory punishment, unsafe facilities, and unauthorized fees. Discipline and examination processes should provide notice, evidence, a chance to respond, proportionate action, and review.
Privacy and accountability
Disability, health, discipline, examination, and family information is sensitive. Public dashboards should use aggregated data. Future guides will identify the current responsible office, complaint route, and revision date.
