Rivers and boundary landscapes
The Mano River helps define part of the boundary with Sierra Leone, while portions of the Cavalla form part of the boundary with Côte d’Ivoire. Other border sections cross forests, highlands, farms, towns, and long-established community territories.
History and civic importance
Modern borders divide older cultural, linguistic, family, and trading regions. Border records should connect treaties, surveys, official crossings, security, trade, migration, citizenship, county administration, and cross-border communities without assuming that a river alone defines the complete legal line.
