President Joseph Nyuma Boakai nominated J. Lavelah Massaquoi as Superintendent of Lofa County in 2024.

The superintendent coordinates county administration and works with district, city and local authorities. The 2022 census lists these administrative areas: Foya, Kolahun, Salayea, Vahun, Voinjama, Zorzor, Quardu Boundi, Lukameh, Wahasa, Waum and Tengia.
